"Thoughts are not facts!" - quote by Ruby Wax
This is such a good quote because thoughts are just that thoughts, it is vital to always remember that, everyone have many different points of view and we cannot assess what someone else is thinking, it is vital for every person I meet to acknowledge that because no one can control what we think. That is, unless we let them.
Something I recall in the time I have so far lived is something that happens all the time “I know what you’re thinking” yet no one can know exactly what someone is thinking in their own context; it is impossible, even if someone said as a medium that “I can read minds” they cannot and can only go by the context and their own thoughts about what someone might be thinking.
Saying that we cannot tell someone what to think, many people get brainwashed and that in itself is such an awful event that we do not realise it is happening it is about convincing people. Then there is the learning, the thoughts we have from learning and the language and skills involved in learning is totally different to knowing what someone is thinking. Learning is a system and a structure, thoughts are personal and should not be invaded.
There was a quote that Gracie’s Mummy, my sister, used to say when we were younger “Don’t judge people on your own standards” which is so true.
The quote “Thoughts aren’t facts” by Ruby Wax is so apt for these times because we cannot presume anything about anyone, only actions and knowledge.
