Look, Listen, Learn and Live.

Always be aware that your niece or nephew is becoming their own person so here is a break-down of all the bits essential to engage with the young:

LOOK: are they displaying behaviours that are worrying? do they have any unusual marks or injuries?

monitor this and always be prepared to listen to the little people and ask questions to mum and dad.

LISTEN: always let your kin know you are there for support, ensure that mum and dad know you are there to listen to any concerns or stress they may be having. Being an Auntie or Uncle always includes being a sister or brother too!!

LEARN: we never fully get things perfect, and being a parent is all about individuals, being an auntie or uncle means being the bind to keep stuff all together and communication flowing. be forgiving, because parenting is not easy it can be fun but it is not always fun there are lots of catches and practicalities. but communication is key here we all need to be listening and looking to learn, and very often to forgive and move forwards together.

LIVE: Oh we all have a life, be healthy, eat as healthily as possible and be that role model that your niece or nephew looks up to. be active and play with them in the outdoors, take them to the park and let them wander and be free with their movement. be around trees and nature for fresh air and positive activities. from little acorns great oak trees grow…..
