“Auntie LaLa can I ask you a question?”... “Yes of course you can, ask me anything! Come sit down.” *an awkward question and how I responded!

Yes I was asked by Gracie “Auntie LaLa, will you be my Mummy?”........ er! Shock! Keep calm. Yes children will ask the craziest cutest things! I guess in some ways this may be have been asked by her step Mum (her Dad’s partner) to ask Gracie if she could be her Mum. So in Gracie’s mind it was assumed then that in Girlsworld you can do that, choose your Mum. 

What can you say after that question I mean it is just not the kind of thing I was expecting I thought maybe she would ask me about the world, perhaps about her Grandad Tony, anything other than this. It did melt my heart. Her Mummy had fallen out with me, and as me and Gracie were on our own she took the opportunity to ask me as her Grandma was preparing Gracie’s dinner. 

In response I offered a nice acceptance of her question “Gracie what a lovely thing to ask me. But you know you already have a Mummy and she loves you so much” and as I said those words it made me realise, perhaps Gracie has also asked her Mum, and maybe she has been upset with me because Gracie asked her.
